Habit Tiles is designed with privacy at its core. We believe your personal data should stay private and under your control. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS app.
Short version: Your habit data is stored locally on your device and in your private iCloud account. We don't collect, analyze, or sell your personal information. We don't use third-party analytics or tracking.
What Data We Collect
Data You Create
When you use Habit Tiles, you create:
- Habit names, icons, and colors
- Completion records and streaks
- Custom grid layouts and tile arrangements
- App settings and preferences
Where it's stored: All this data is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, it's stored in your private iCloud account that only you can access.
Data We Don't Collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email, or contact information (unless you contact us)
- Usage analytics or behavior tracking
- Device identifiers or location data
- Your habit data or completion history
- Any personally identifiable information
How We Use Your Data
Since your data stays on your device and in your iCloud account, we don't have access to it and cannot use it. Your habit data is used solely to:
- Display your habits and track your progress
- Sync your data across your Apple devices (if iCloud sync is enabled)
- Generate statistics and visualizations within the app
- Provide app functionality like reminders and widgets
All data processing happens locally on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers or third parties.
Data Storage & Security
Your data security is protected by Apple's ecosystem:
- Local storage: Data is stored in iOS's secure app sandbox
- iCloud sync: End-to-end encrypted via Apple's iCloud infrastructure
- Access control: Only you can access your data through your Apple ID and device authentication
We have no servers that store your personal data. We cannot access, view, or recover your habit data.
Third-Party Services
Habit Tiles does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services. We don't share your data with anyone because we don't have access to it.
The app operates entirely within Apple's ecosystem and is subject to Apple's App Store Terms and Apple's Privacy Policy.
Your Rights & Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Access: View all your data within the app anytime
- Export: Export your habit data (feature coming soon)
- Delete: Delete individual habits or clear all data from Settings
- Opt-out of iCloud: Disable iCloud sync in Settings to keep data local only
When you delete the app, all local data is removed from your device. iCloud data remains in your iCloud account until you delete it manually or it expires per Apple's iCloud storage policies.
Children's Privacy
Habit Tiles is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app stores data locally and doesn't transmit personal information, it's safe for children to use under parental supervision.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. When we make changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify you through the app or App Store update notes.
Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
